Weekly Jan 18, 25 & Feb 1

Jan 18
Hi guys! This week was really cold. Right after it rained on Monday, it snowed for the rest of the week! Mission President told us we werent allowed to drive, so we have been walking and bussing lots. And bumming rides off the members. The bishop contacted us on Saturday and gave us a heads up that we might not have church on Sunday because it was so snowy. But we did end having church, and it is a good thing too because WE HAVE AN INVESTIGATOR AND SHE CAME TO CHURCH WITH US!!!!!. Her name is Sarah. Hahaha. She just moved from Ontario a few months ago. Back story- Sistey Koyle and I decided that we needed to fast to find an investigator because we spend hours knocking but nobody likes us :( so we fasted in Friday, and while we were fasting, some Sister's from another area contacted us with referral, who is Sarah! We contacted her right away and met with her on Sunday. She has a pretty odd past, and is "searching for the flame she once felt." She said she doesn't feel close with God anymore because of the trials (all self caused) that she is going through. She goes to a couple of different churches each week to feel the holy Spirit, but she doesn't feel like she can find it. I know that we have what she is looking for, and I hope that as we continually meet with her, she will recognize it! So fasting work people. Don't doubt it.
We also had an inactive girl come to church with us. She called us on Saturday morning and told us she didn't want to wear a dress to church but she didnt have any  nice clothes to wear. (she is super punk/goth)  So we called around to the ward members and nobody wanted to donate, so I grudgingly gave her some of my pants and a shirt. I thought I was just loaning them to her, but I realized on Sunday when I saw her wearing them, that she will probably keep them because that's all she's got to wear! I was mad at first because you all know I am a brat when it come to my clothes. But I realized that she really liked them, and if it keeps her coming to church then she can keep them.
Other than that, it's been a pretty slow week. Lots of contacting, lots of rude people, but lots of fun with the other missionaries and ward members! The ward here is awesome. Most people are converts so it is really cool to hear their stories.

Life is really good right now. I think today is President's Day in the States (?), which means that on this day last year I was up at Utah State for the weekend partying with my people!... Not necessarily making the best decisions. Looking back on what I was doing at this time last year is really interesting compared to what I am doing this year. It is a total 180 degree turn around! We all go through phases in life, and we all go through trials. Sometimes we make mistakes, but I am so grateful for the Atonement and that we are able to make fix those! Christ is a good guy for doing what he did. Always remember that you can take control of you life at anytime and head it in the direction that you want. It is never too late!!

Anywayyyyyys. I love you all and hope you have a good week.

"Now is the time for members and missionaries to come together, to work together, to labor in the Lord's vineyard to bring souls unto Him. He has prepared the means for us to share the gospel in a multitude of ways, and he will assist us is out labors if we will act in faith to fulfill His work." -Thomas S. Monson

On Wednesday we had a World Wide Missionary Broadcast and they shared a video with us about working with members. It was really awesome and I would like to invite all of you to watch the video and to invite those around you to hear the gospel in someway because you are the members from the video! And like my good friend David O. Mckay once said, "Every member a missionary."

This week we went to Halifax for exchanges and we got to cross the bridge! It was sweet. I got to go with Sister Killpack for 2 days and it was so fun! We went to Dalhousie University and street contacted a ton and it was really fun! I learned a lot from her. We also go to teach a lesson to a lady named Janna who is an ex- drug addict and it was super sweet. But she is in Halifax area so I don't get to teach her anymore :( Also apparently I just have "one of those faces" because this week I have had multiple people ask me where I am from and then they tell me I look like someone they know. I guess I have a twin running around somewhere in Canada!
Other than exchanges and the broadcast, nothing really exciting happened this week. Just lots of knocking (my fave) and meeting with less active people. Our investigator, Sarah, cancelled both of our appointments with her this week and didn't make it to church, but we are planning on meeting with her this week so we will see what happens.
I love you all and hope you have a good week!

Feb 1 2016

This week went by really quick! We spent a lot of time street contacting downtown, and it is absolutely amazing because it is right next to the ocean. I love it here in Dartmouth Novia Scotia. :)
This week was also great because we got a new investigator! Her name is Jennifer and he is from Ghana. She and 2 other women came over to Canada 3 years ago to finish school and to work to bring their families over. One of her housemates is a member and that is how we met her. She has already heard the discussions and knows the gospel is true. She is just waiting for her husband to allow her to be baptized. She asked us to come back and continue teaching her the lessons because she really like them. She came to church this week along with our other investigator Sarah.
We were finally able to meet with Sarah again and we went over some of the restoration.  Sarah likes to talk a lot so it is hard to get through the whole lesson, but we are continuing to work with her and it was awesome to have both of our investigators at church! We got permission from our Mission President to take her to institute on Friday nights, so that will be really good for her to meet more people her age that belong to the church.
Other than that, we have just been working a lot with less actives and trying to get them back to church. We have also been meeting with the recent converts in the ward, and it is fun to hear their conversion stories and to learn from their testimonies.

It's crazy that it is already February! I can't believe next week is the end of my first transfer. I hope that you guys have a good week! I love you all!
